Yes, Yes Y'all and you don't stop...
Put your hands in the air if you love hip hop...
Yes, Yes Y'all and you don't stop...
Put your hands in the air if you love hip hop...
I,
met h.e.r when I was just a little girl
I,
met h.e.r just after my eyes could see
Bobbin my head as I rocked to the beat...
Singing 'You're All I Need" sitting in the front seat...
She was much older when she was introduced to my ears
But I've lived long enough to know that her substance has disappeared..
Like,
then she spoke more of justice but through the years
She let the thugs, drugs and hustlers put her in tears
My speaker box would rock rock and wouldn't stop
What a 7 year old know about the hard knocks?
I was 7 years old and I loved hip hop
and when I say I loved h.e.r. I mean I admired all her knowledge.
My speaker box no longer rock rocks, but now it bleeds..
And Every meaningless song that comes through is painful to me.
Letting rappers with no talent destroy hip hop's legacy is like
Picasso letting a savage destroy all his artistry.
It's Intangible
I can't seem to put a finger on it...
But hip hop is now a victim of a crime and rappers are wanted..
Hip hop stimulated our minds.
Now it's all flaunting..
Hip hop has officially died and bad music haunts me.
"Hey Young World" "Regulate" what's going on...
Society's "Stressed Out" we gotta keep the music going.
All it takes is "One Mic" to make a better place for you and me.
Start instilling "The Message" and spreading the "U.N.I.T.Y".
"Keep Ya Head Up", witness "My Philosophy"
And if "Parents Just Don't Understand" then I guess they will never see.
That "Hip Hop Is Dead" and she's buried beneath my feet.
And in order to dig her up I'd have to kill every fake rapper that I see.
"I Used To Love H.E.R" but now she's something totally different.
"The Definition" of Hip Hop doesn't exist and we're the one's that killed it.
To say Hip Hop Is Dead is intense but its how I'm feeling
I guess it's better to say Hip Hop is only Hidden.
