Dedication to...
Looking into past endeavors forgetting what the future holds in its palms
Losing sight of every moment due to a seconds distraction
A violation of what once was and should have always belonged
Looking into his eye becomes a difficulty..
Knowing they once met another
violation of what I can and should only see
Hating the thoughts that dwell from my imagination of him and everyone else
A...violation
Knowing he committed the acts of natures temptations, forgetting his morals and disobeying his God.
For with every stroke and moment shared with another becomes a sin added on
Violating his lover
And..every promise we made to one another.
I find it hard to love him
Knowing that what was once cherished, a treasure waiting to be opened with the right key
Has now been broken into
A violation of MY body, what did and should have belonged to me
Spoiled, trashed..he violated we
My temple, my king
He ruined us relentlessly..

RED
The blood of these burdened streets now reach the burdens made of the blood that once covered my ancestors knees.
Discolored then.
They say you can't see the blood on a black man.
Let me pull out my glasses so I can see, and grieve in remembrance.
The blood that marked every Hebrew's home in hopes of lives to spare, now covers our doors in splatters, in hopes that our message now is clear.
Hoping that we continue to not care, that our children now bleed the blood of an urban slave..
whipped and beaten by money cars clothes and Lil Wayne..
Bleeding the blood not dignified
Discolored, not seen by a black man's eyes..
Blood as long as our African history lies
Discolored, not seen by our generations minds.
You can't see the blood on a black man
but it is clear as crystal on a nigga.
it is dyed the color that "resembles the color of blood"
A color I can't remember.
Cuz I
only bleed the blood my ancestors have given
I refuse to change it's color
To erase its existence
Falling into a trap of robotics
tracing longer distances.
Discolored then
Discolored in the future,
I refuse to dye it red, I. don't. find. it useful
meaningful with purpose
Cuz I bleed the same blood
That my ancestors got from whips, welts and thorns
The same blood that they would bleed whenever a heir to their throne was born
Discolored and with a legacy that is meant to continue on.
The blood of these burdened streets can't compare with the burdens that once covered my ancestors knees.
The blood of these burdened streets now reach the burdens of the blood that now covers our country's teens.
Colored that color "that resembles the color of blood"
A color once made by the "massas" and now the thugs
It was discolored then
but we bleed the blood of urban slave
Cuz we focus on the money, the hoes and the gangs.
But this is NOT the blood that should be passing through our veins.
What once was blood filled with dignity, is now blood filled with shame.
You can't see the blood on a black man,
but it is clear as crystal on a "nigga"
painted the color "that resembles the color of blood"
A color I can't remember.
Discolored then.

HIDden
Yes, Yes Y'all and you don't stop...
Put your hands in the air if you love hip hop...
Yes, Yes Y'all and you don't stop...
Put your hands in the air if you love hip hop...
I,
met h.e.r when I was just a little girl
I,
met h.e.r just after my eyes could see
Bobbin my head as I rocked to the beat...
Singing 'You're All I Need" sitting in the front seat...
She was much older when she was introduced to my ears
But I've lived long enough to know that her substance has disappeared..
Like,
then she spoke more of justice but through the years
She let the thugs, drugs and hustlers put her in tears
My speaker box would rock rock and wouldn't stop
What a 7 year old know about the hard knocks?
I was 7 years old and I loved hip hop
and when I say I loved h.e.r. I mean I admired all her knowledge.
My speaker box no longer rock rocks, but now it bleeds..
And Every meaningless song that comes through is painful to me.
Letting rappers with no talent destroy hip hop's legacy is like
Picasso letting a savage destroy all his artistry.
It's Intangible
I can't seem to put a finger on it...
But hip hop is now a victim of a crime and rappers are wanted..
Hip hop stimulated our minds.
Now it's all flaunting..
Hip hop has officially died and bad music haunts me.
"Hey Young World" "Regulate" what's going on...
Society's "Stressed Out" we gotta keep the music going.
All it takes is "One Mic" to make a better place for you and me.
Start instilling "The Message" and spreading the "U.N.I.T.Y".
"Keep Ya Head Up", witness "My Philosophy"
And if "Parents Just Don't Understand" then I guess they will never see.
That "Hip Hop Is Dead" and she's buried beneath my feet.
And in order to dig her up I'd have to kill every fake rapper that I see.
"I Used To Love H.E.R" but now she's something totally different.
"The Definition" of Hip Hop doesn't exist and we're the one's that killed it.
To say Hip Hop Is Dead is intense but its how I'm feeling
I guess it's better to say Hip Hop is only Hidden.
Put your hands in the air if you love hip hop...

Hide and Seek
I would like to be
his hot summer day with an afternoon breeze
Nice and easy
In him I see aspects not seen by the human eye
Right thru the flesh and blood,
I see his heart playing hide and seek in disguise
He doesn't appear to be a victim of lies and terror, but a young soul at peace
Cupids arrow aiming toward him but instead of love I am the needle at its peak
Right thru the perceptions and straight to his true being
He is the ruler of my castle and I am his queen
My mind can only hope that all trials and tribulations have been brought to an end
He makes me forget the others
They no longer exist
And as far as the hearbreak goes, I no longer reminisce.
All negative things have been erased but I try not to get ahead of myself
So I don't fall upon the hurt he could identify
Is is another one of love's tests?
Is it another deception?
Another one of my perceptions?
Is my mind, fooling, playing games
Stuck with confusion lost like a child without a name
Or a child without a brain, or a clue
I'm a lost child without you.
Others may not identify or relate
It doesn't matter to me
In him I see the epitamy of greatness
Not Fake, unreal or majestic
But a human being, not domesticated
Untamed in the mind
HIs thoughts wander as I wonder what's behind all things seen by the human eye
HIs heart plays hide and seek with me in disguise.
An innocent game, so I like to call it fairplay
No win or lose but love at it's best
Like a cold winter day it keeps me warm,
and embraces me whenever there is a storm
And I keep him strong
And love embraces us both together
I would like to be the person he can call on whenever
The rays of his sun
The bullets that load his gun
Giving him power to live whole-heartedly
Him and I combining as one...
My mind replays his smile like a broken record, but I like this sound
And I enjoy his frowns, as crazy as it seems
Knowing I can take them away
I enjoy his time, his company
Hoping he will never go astray
I can't imagine someone losing the twinkle in their eye
To lose a love such as his seems impossible
Just him and I, thru the flesh and the blood,
thru all the perceptions and misjudgments
His heart plays hide and seek with me in disguise..
his hot summer day with an afternoon breeze
Nice and easy
In him I see aspects not seen by the human eye

Dedication to A GREAT (An Ode to the 1 and Only Michael Joseph Jackson)
Damn near beaten into the microphone
he stands with such pride and grace...
let his voice plague the room, in a high falsetto
feel the pain he shows across his face
this world is so filled with hate, but yet he makes the accomplishment of becoming a great...
what?
He's so far from any normal man and so close to a god...
He outweighs an artist and is capable of touching the stars...
Destined to shock the planet and destroy the human race, with such pride and such grace
Such talent can not be erased copied or duplicated...
Such people cannot be appreciated but often hated
By such people who are advocates of the devil himself while they laugh at his ways and chase after his wealth..
They laugh at his ways
And attack for what he stands
Point their fingers and they laugh as if they are an ocean and he's beneath the sand...
Create lies for entertainment
as they laugh attack and point
their godforsaken fingers to the greatest to ever walk the planet, ever touch the mic, rock the joint!
To ever spin and fall into a split, moonwalk, and grab his --
He can never be duplicated
He is hated by the press, cuz he just couldn't sit his ass down and rest
They threw tabloids and he threw them back,
shot out allegations, and shot em back
They tried and they tried to make him mad, angry and depressed
but instead he became invincible and shut them down...
Rockin' our world,
He dance and he sang smiles from frowns
HE uplifted, nurtured every innocent soul
after he was criticized for welcoming little boys into his home
he still danced and sang our blues away with Heaven Can wait
But they didn't want him to stay. So now we suffer from grief and pain...
Because THEY killed a great..
NO WORDS can ever explain, no other can ever contain...
OUR world will never be the same...
Because THEY killed a great..
He can never be erased, copied or duplicated.
He's been framed misunderstood,
Banished and Killed...
And now he's buried beneath the lies and allegations,
The made-up stories claiming that he is unreal
Claiming that he died because of pills when he died because of US,
Inside he was empty because of US and our lies, and our mess, and our, jokes, and the press. and their effed up stories of a man now layed to rest...
How can we ever do that to a man who was the BEST??
How can we selfishly kill a great?
He can never be duplicated..
They thought they were dominating a master of the arts
and now they sit in the pits of hell while he lives forever with the gods
They thought they were dominating a genius of his time
They thought they could bring him down but he was still in his prime
and he still lives in our minds, because he is the greatest of all time...
Changing the history of music, and the face of our world
He touched all countries on this planet, and rocked the universe with his talent...
I could write this for days and speak the truth for any person who ever loved, this genius, mastermind, talented great
But I could never find all the words to say..
Because THEY killed a great.
Perfomer, artist, musician, dancer, writer, inspiration, genius, mastermind, talented.
HUMAN BEING.
With such pride and such grace..
He can NEVER BE DUPLICATED.

Fairytales
In this world today...
Where sunshine turns into rain and, joy becomes the pain,
and love is now astray.
Where the streets are no longer talking,
just people walking by..
Fast cars
Street lights
Look of determination in the eyes.
May have killed my dreams but I,
keep my feet planted, head aimed toward the sky.
And my broken heart is in pain but you won't ever see me cry.
May be pride
May be faith
..or just hoping for those better days.
Where I can kick back and think about when things were whole again.
Seems like everybody feels the same,
like unhealthy relationships are a reality.
My mom showed me the game
Somehow it left some kind of doubt in me.
That love is unreal, and happiness is scarce.
I got the urge to find it but idk where.
It's like my life is a version of a fairytale,
like prince charming is gonna pick me up and take me everywhere.
Go to sleep and wake up
See ain't sh** here changed.
From the moment you broke up,
you hoped their feelings remained.
Bad examples leave you hopeless
Lose focus
And try again.
Destined to prove what's real is real,
and what's not is just a game.
But what occurs in my brain only happens on tv.
People telling me as I grow older sooner or later I'll see,
that happiness doesn't come often and things aren't always how they seem.
And love is only for people who are living in a dream...
I tried finding it in places where I thought it could never be.
Disappointment knocking at my door, and failure at my feet.
Fall again only to stand tall
And embrace the moment you saw,
love at it highest, back not against a wall.
And the sunshine is no longer rain, and joy is no longer pain.
No longer blinded, eyes open again.
No longer silenced, now sane.
But every now and then it shows up,
makes you happy, then blows up.
Leaves you there to go nuts,
ask yourself and then what?
Failed then came up,
back to where you came from.
Gained something,
lesson learned.
Wanna say something but there are no words.
I guess my purpose is now served.
Life's bigger than a 4 letter word,
so I'll Keep my head aimed up high,
and my feet near the Earth.
And what exists in my brain, are no longer fairytale things.
Wake up
Get up
Glad it was just a dream.
Sooner or later I began to see,
what occurs in my brain only happens on tv.
And love is only for people who are living in a dream...
